Seattle, WA – (April 18th 2007) Team BBR/Monster Energy announces
the official rider line-up for MiniMoto SX 2007. Race Team Director &
BBR President, Duane Brown, is happy to point out the team will have
three returning Champions:
Derek Costella 1st place 2006 MM12E
Jan Pontanilla of Aloha Cycles 1st place 2006 MM Women
Greg Crater 1st place MM10 Stock
Derek Costella is totally focused on defending his AMA #1 title at
MiniMoto SX 2007. Derek has been training hard and racing KX450’s in the
WORCS series in addition to logging numerous hours on his BBR Perimeter
Frame 50, 110 and Mid-size Pro race bikes in preparation. BBR is proud
to have Derek as our lead BBR/Monster Factory rider. His aggressive
style and love for the sport fits perfectly with BBR’s strategy for
winning.
And the big news at the BBR/Monster camp is that Seven-Time
Supercross Champion, Jeremy McGrath has joined the team for the first
time at this year’s race. The Brown Brothers have been working closely
with McGrath over the last several months to put together a program to
support him for this big event.
Another recent development is former Langtown Champion, Tim Weigand,
making his MiniMoto SX debut with BBR/Monster in Vegas. Weigand has
raced on BBR teams in past years and was the 2004 & 2005 Langtown
Champion onboard his BBR Perimeter Frame 150F. After three years of
scheduling difficulties, Duane Brown finally worked out a way to get
Weigand to Vegas.
